"Fapy Lafertin's virtuose, swinging and energetic way of playing is not the only riveting aspect of this CD. The solo-performance of the youthful violinist combines to make it very recommendable (...) In the few years of their being together, the current line-up have become a tight group which seem to effortlessly master any musical challenge (...) This CD was made not only for jazz lovers, but for anyone who loves to hear virtuoso guitar and violin performances (...) This is top-class stuff!" |

"Being the famous soloist he is, guitarist Fapy Lafertin lives up to expectations. He and the quintet have a musicality that is more spontaneous than that of the Rosenbergs: the music is diverse in style and sound, and just swings ... the violinist fiercely competes with Lafertin as a soloist. His ready enthusiasm must be his own, and his background in classical music and jazz ensures a warm and suave sound." |
